Raycom Aerospace Signs MOU with Abu Dhabi Airport Company to spear head SME Precision Engineering eco system development in Al Ain Aerospace cluster

 

Raycom Aerospace (www.raycomaerospace.com) a manufacturer of precision components and honeycomb seal assemblies for the aerospace industry signed a MOU with the Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) (www.adac.com) on June 18 2009 at the Paris Air show to spear head the development of a SME Precision Engineering eco system in the Al Ain aerospace cluster

 

According to Mr Faisal, the Head of ADAC Aerospace Cluster, Raycom Aerospace represents an excellent partner to help develop the SME Precision Engineering infrastructure to support the Al Ain aerospace cluster.  With capabilities going beyond precision machining, Raycom also have capabilities to support special processes like Heat treatment, Non destructive testing, vacuum brazing, etc which are an integral part of the aerospace precision engineering eco system.

 

“The signing of the MOU is significant to Raycom in three ways” said Stephen Kim, Managing Director of Raycom Aerospace, “One, it shows that Raycom is a recognized contributor in the aerospace Precision Engineering sector.  Two, it reflects the quality and reputation of Singapore based SMEs and three, Raycom can assist other Singapore SMEs to tap into the fast growing aerospace market in Abu Dhabi.  Already several SMEs in the Singapore Paris Air show mission have expressed interest in participating in the Al Ain aerospace cluster project.

 

Witnessing the MOU signing was also the chairman of Raycom Aerospace Mr Anura Perera who said that Raycom was very privileged and honored to be invited to participate in the development of the Al Ain aerospace cluster and hopes more liked minded SMEs to participate in this exciting project.

The Al Ain Aerospace Cluster, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, offers a unique opportunity for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the aerospace industry to expand their international trade and establish operations in one of the world’s fastest growing economic regions.   The cluster is a significant new aerospace park, funded by the Abu Dhabi Government, on a 25km2 area of land adjacent to Al Ain International Airport.  The development will house a centre of excellence for technology and innovation in the global aerospace industry.
